  • Lifted?

Just finished putting 2" lift coils in, seems to have lifted the Surf a inch or so..

But the top 3 to 4 coils of the springs seem to be compressed together when the Surf is not loaded at all. Is this normal? It didn't seem to be this way with the original springs - they were fairly evenly spread apart.

The distance from top of rim (15") to lip of wheel arch is now 13 & 3/4 inches, it was around 12 inches before.

Have I over compressed the coils when fitting them? Are the springs faulty?

Any ideas?? The coils came from LA Supertrux (greenie blue ones) - think I'll call them in the morning....

Cheers Marky, on photos I've seen before the coils seem more evenly spread.

Can't face the idea of wipping them out again

ok! The top 2 coils on my MILNERS 20% stronger are fairly close together as these are the smallest diameter at the top. Larger diameter at the bottom.

mmmm.. my top 3 are actually all touching.

Just measured the ride height, it's approx 55cm (just over 21.5"") from centre hub to wheel arch.

Yours have a gap between each coil.

Paul, I'd snap a pic and sent it to LA Supertrux, and see if they are OK, as other brought from them in the past arn't like it. But they might have a new supplier and its perfectly OK. At least you'll know.

They look like 'progressive coils'. Have a search on www.yotatech.com for these. You should get some info!
