We are now one of the highest tax countries in the EU....yes the gov saw an increase in the use of diesel in the public sector eg small cars etc and wanted its cut... B***tards. Cheapest ive seen at the mo was in preston at 88.9/ltr thats the shell garage deepdale. I have found that shell seems to be slightly lower than the others. Roll out the veg oil...cleaner, greener and recycling.

ok so if the government cuts the tax on veggie oil, it will take money from the oil companies. they are v.v. rich and the governments friends. it will also give money and a bit of leverage to farmers. they are v.v.poor and the government hates them. can any one see this happening? ever?

What I can never understand about fuel prices is this. I live approx' 8 miles from the Buncefield Oil Depot, near Hemel Hempstead. Petrol here is always a penny or two more than in London, where the business rates, overheads, insurance etc are higher. Surely the further you get from London and the nearer to the refinery/distribution depot the cheaper it should be?
          It's only a hobby!

            I'agree with that!.
87p per litre, 4p dearer than petrol round the Leeds area. There has been a steady rise just before Easter.
As the warmer weather approaches prices always go up because more people go out.
Petrol engine with gas conversion next for me !!!!

as stated...Diesel should be cheaper as a byproduct of the pertroleum chain [petrol, kerosene etc.....]. The main fact is that this government takes approx 80p in every pound in taxes as fuel duty.

It's a pity that every vehicle forum can not be contacted to start a protest again....Whilst I dont wanna go into some of the tactics by the French..I found it funny that the state funded Minitel system was used by Students and other factions alike against their own government.

Gas prices around here about 30p per litre +vat, but for how long, last time I filled my works van I was told "make the most of it while you can".
Laugh!!! I nearly bought my own beer.
