Don't forget to remove the small semicircular blanking plug from the back of the old head and install it on the new head with some gasket sealant.
I forgot this when doing mine and sent the head back with it on. They had to send it back to me. Unfortunately I had put the head on and it pi**ed oil all over my drive (and my mother in laws too). Luckily you can install it with the head on.

If you,ve been around for a while you may remember my head went on the way back from Donnington 4x4 show in Feb. After much heart & wallet ache a new head was fitted by a guy in Loughboro.
I was unhappy with the work after only a couple of weeks & after giving him ample chances to fix it (250mile round trip) I had to concede it was not worth pursueing. I got my regular mechanic to strip the head etc & redo all the work.It was a shocking job !
Really to restore my own confidence in the car & engine I asked the mechanic to check all the bottom end of the engine & also used it as an opportunity to fit a new clutch . So we decided to take the engine out .
It runs a lot better now just thought people might like to see the pics
