Won’t rev and have to drain fuel from pump

Ever since I’ve owned my 1995 kzn130 every so often while driving it’ll drop revs and won’t go over 1000 with my foot down, then the engine light will come on and the whole car will die. I then have to drain the fuel from the fuel pump, re pump and it’s good to go for another 6months. Any idea what this could be? no mechanic can seem to figure it out and it’s so frustrating.

Sounds like a flapper vavlve type fuel blockage. perhaps something has dislodged and acting like a volve. i would pull apart the fuel system and have a look. Start at where you are draining it to the engine.

Replace the very small o-ring, on the tap, at bottom of fuel filter.
