VIN number

Hi guys!

The plate containing my VIN number has unfortunately come off my 1993 Hilux Surf. The only other way to find it is on the chassis, driver side. I’m unable to get a new plate from Toyota U.K. as I have a Japanese import which was not imported via Toyota U.K.

How do I get a new plate? Also the number on the chassis has been scrubbed off a little with a wire brush, so it is very difficult to see now and makes it hard for MOT testers!

One question - do you think Toyota would be able to at least obtain the numbers for you? I didn't have a photo of it before it went missing and honestly, I have no idea what was on it.

cheers buddy! Will give it a go if they don't come back to me with a positive reply, Toyota Malta are trying to get in touch with their Japanese counterpart to try and get it original, but they warned me chances are they don't do them anymore.
