2013 hilux cut out wont restart any ideas please

hi all I was driving my hilux 2.5 yesterday and all of a sudden started losing power not bogging just felt like it was goin to cut out then picked up this lasted a mile until then cut out and wont restart .
I first thought dodgy fuel gauge so I put 20l of diesel in then I checked filter which did look mucky so changed that and primed up ok this is all at side of road bloody nightmare , still no start it does seem to crank over nice and fast too also I have a cheap code reader but that says no faults any ideas please how to narrow this down please as im not very wealthy to put this in to garage thanks .

update dont know whats changed but its now starting but still taking 5 secs too fire even when warm any ideas now please

Is the primer pump on top of filter holding pressure?

Considering that you changed the fuel and cleaned everything in the engine, I think you need to contact the auto repair shop for help because there are a million reasons why your car can lose power.
