little black box on ecu.

hi i have just discovered a black box connected to the ecu unit with dimos written on it and when i followed the wires it led me to the switch on the dash which would have been used for the suspension hard or soft. the surf is a gen 2 kzn130 3lt auto 1995.diesel thanks .
