The wife VW beetle ?1972 ish(beetle) just failed the MOT
I am looking for a cheap undercarrige? (chassi) if any spots one give me a shout

Cooool and I would have one less wheel to replace, no welding as it was the front

You need to check out the front suspension as it rots quicker then the chassis . I was asked to rebuild a Beetle for a neighbour once . I jacked the front up and the jack started to disappear into the cross member .I turned the job down as a no goer .

Nice looking motors , but they love tin worm !

Exactly which part of the chassis failed? Nearly all parts including the frame head were still available last time I was involved with beetles (few years back admittedly), the only bit unavailable then was the structure around the windscreen. Changing the chassis itself is certainly not the quickest or easiest of jobs as it will likely throw up many more snags, ie rotten sills and heater channels etc.
There are plenty of specialists in the UK who deal exclusively with bugs, perhaps one of them might be the best bet for a repair.

Thanks Morr, you are right it will be very very involved...even changing an indicator bulb took two hours It had corroded into place so I had to remove the whole fitting and yes all the bolts had corroded inplace and it went on the wiring all snapped off so needed replacing two hour later new bulb and job done .. I have the time to do it just not the money as I will have to get her run around in between time of which was not in my budget..so I amon the look out for abargin

I seem be breeding them Just sorted the back out Last year now its the front the little blighters must have moved house!!
