  • Important warning

Read this on Difflock and I automaticaly thought of Barton and such places.

    http://www.difflock.com/discus/messa...tml?1109627304

If the Police ever turned up at Barton, they could probably do the same. I don't want to scare monger but I feel this info is worth sharing.

    Damian.

PS I've just joined GLASS, are there any other members here?

      Hi Damian,

Further to this we found notices on the Tennyson Trail which we often drive along warning of the Police's powers.

Check out the post with a transcript of the memo posted here

I have just registered on difflock.com and listed my 1st and 2nd vehicles as Toyota Hilux Surf and Suzuki SJ Hybrid. It could be interesting.

Back to serious matters. It could be that the site security spotted them and alerted the police.
As for the act referred to in the thread, I will be passing a copy to the local beat officer, so that he has no reasonable excuse for not dealing with the local low life who are tearing up the parks, football pitches, rugby pitches, communal grassed areas, bowling greens, cricket pitches, the grounds of an old peoples home (I'm not kidding) a site of special scientific interest, an ancient monument and a school playing field. They use Moto-X bikes, stolen mopeds, scooters and even stolen disability scooters to do donuts close to where little kids are playing, showering them with mud.
Rant On: Dare to forget to switch your front fogs off, having travelled through a pea souper on the public road in your taxed, insured and MOT'd car and they will have you banged to rights and paying a spot fine. :Rant Off:
        It's only a hobby!

Its nothing new, if your not on a byway you've always been breaking the law. The cops just have new powers that make it easier for them to fine people, meaning they'll pick on the easiest targets as its less hassle for them.

Stay legal and drive byways sensibly (ie slowly and quietly!) and you'll be OK.

PEEL HOLDINGS own this land that we use. we have not had permission.
Due to the problems with ILEGAL OFFROAD vehicles the Police & Local Authorities in this area are seizing stolen MOTOX bikes & also getting video evidence to aid in prosecution of anyone causing annoyance.
So BARTON is a no go area at the moment & i advise you not to go there as there is a camera on the LAYBY which is in use. I have friends in high places so you have been warned

That's a pity as it's a great play area, but it's not too surprising really. Looks like we'll need to find another play place.
