Grrr - thought the Hilux had sold, great I thought, ok blokes got zero feedback, only been registered a day, see he's in Cornwall, send an email with my number to arrange collection. Don't hear anything, check back on ebay in the evening, hang on he's got -6 now and looks like he/she had bid on loads of cars that were ending within an hour, and no longer a registered ebay user.

Ah feck its probably some bored kid, go through the motions of marking it as being unpaid.

Later that night receive an email from this bloke saying he was the winner, he would get a business client to send me a cheque for £5000, cash it, deduct my money and send the rest back with the car via Western Union !! ok game over dude, mailed a copy of the letter to ebay, not expecting much to happen, standard reply back saying after an investigation the user is no longer registered and should I decide to relist heres some tips...

Did a bit of looking at mail headers, and found the IP address was reported as being in good old Nigeria.

After that I've decided we are taking the Surf to the Netherlands.

Some folks must still be falling for these scams otherwise they wouldn't bother. I smelt a big fat hairy rodent the first time I recieved one of these.
