Some of you might remember my post a few weeks ago about having to sell the surf due to lack of funds. Well, i didn`t sell it, i am laying it up until i get back on my feet again. When i first bought it last year, the best ins. quote i found was £296 fully comp from axa through footman james. At the time i was well pleased as other quotes had been nearer the £400+ mark. My insurance would have been due around now, had i been able to afford it, and last week i had a quote in for £262 from liverpool vic. After reading posts on here about how good lifesure were, i decided to get a quote from them and was totally amazed when it came in at £191.Still can`t afford it though as i`m not working at the moment and therefore they won`t let me pay monthly. Funny how as with most things, you have to be financially healthy to be able to get credit. (I suppose i can see the logic in it somewhere.) The outcome of all this waffle is the surf is still off the road and you can bet your sweet whatever that when i do want to re-insure, i`ll not get a quote like that.
I would do the same as you if I could not afford to pay for it.
Lay it up off the road and mothball it till I could afford it again.
Hope thing work out for you(could be out of work at the end of the year myself..)
Cheers

Not quite! Age 57, full ncb protected, clean ticket. I think now surfs are more popular, insurers are getting more streetwise.
So Ken, if you got it insured, would you use it or still lay it up? Do you need it to find work and to commute, how much do you depend on it? I think I would have told a little porky or at least said I was working part time or with an agency, just to get the offer Lifesure quoted you.
