Xbox on PC

Hello everyone,I know this is`nt surf releated,but there are people who use this forum who are very computer literate,-and i`m not.
How,(if it`s possible), can i use my xbox through my pc monitor,Do i need something extra and how much is it.
There`s loads of advantages if i can do this,like not having the handset ripped from my hands when the kids come running through the front room,plus i have a massive sound system on the pc.
