would the new springs you had fitted raised your hight slightly????????
i was thinking of these i know its a close thing for ours, its a good job you didnt have a fin fitted on the back or i bet it would have been in the boot now
I'm not a happy bunny over this. I kicked off at the site MANAGER
I got my camera then he got his BUGGA. I feel like going back tonight & ripping that other sign down but its all locked up.
I agree with others who have posted. The sign on the outside should give you the maximum height available throughout the whole car park. As it is, the outside sign could be interpreted as being suitable for any vehicle below 1.8mts in height, which, as you have proved, is not the case. From memory all the car parks I have been in with the Surf have been marked as such. If the outside sign had said Max 1.7mts you would not have entered, therefore they should have changed the signing on the outside to suit so in my opinion they appear to be at least part liable.
A friend of my dads did the same as you in his Nissan Patrol but it curled the roof back like opening a tin. He successfully sued cos the entrance sign gave an innacurate height. I'll try and remember to ask my dad about it to see if there's any advice to be had.
The argument is that it gives MAX HEIGHT not MINIMUM.
The lower Level does give a minimum height though
IANALOE (I am not a lawyer or expert) but...
That maximum height has got to be the maximum height of a vehicle that can safely use the structure. Otherwise it's a totally meaningless sign. What would be the point of saying that somewhere in here is an area that is 1.8m high if you have to take your vehicle through places that are only 1.5m high first?
I would agree with slugsie but for one thing, the sign says max headroom and that is different from max height. I agree its a bit meaningless as it could be that average headroom is 20 cm but somewhere theres a bit at 1.8m, but thats life. Buyer Beware.
