Light Upgrade

I HAVE RECENTLY BOUGHT MY TRUCK AND AM IN LOVE WITH IT THERE ARE JUST TWO SMALL THINGS THAT IRRITATE ME THE INTERIOR LIGHT IS IN THE BACK AND THERE ISNT ONE IN THE FRONT THAT COMES ON WITH THE DOOR OPENING THERE IS ONE BUT YOU HAVE TO SWITCH IT ON MANUALLY ALSO THE HEADLIGHTS ARE ABSOLUTELY USELESS ESPECIALY ON MAIN BEAM DOES ANYONE KNOW OF ANYTHING I CAN DO TO SOLVE THESE PROBLEMS OTHER THAN THE OBVIOUS (FIT SPOTLIGHTS) CHEERS

Front one should come on with the doors opening, check the door switches.

Never had problems with the surf headlights myself, but you can find better bulbs on ebay.

Sounds like a broken switch in the door frame. The courtesy light should come on if the door is opened (assuming the three position switch by the light is in DOOR position)?

I think can you buy brighter bulbs if it's an issue. I've seen them on E-bay 30% brighter than standard.

if you uprate the bulbs, you ought to uprate the wiring harness as well.

Watch this space. I will be building a pattern/prototype friday afternoon. And shortly afterwards they will appear as another option available to purchase through this forum.

Mine didnt have the doors switch..there is one on ebay now without the mirror....

ive put the 100w blue ring H4 bulbs in mine the its alot lot better now. i have used these for years now with no ill effects....

Headlamp Bulbs

I fitted Xenon bulbs to my Surf - they are a little better but not great. To assist the main beams I wired in a pair of spotlights (via seperate fuse and relay) to come on with the main beams and the result is execellent - well worth the effort.
100w rated bulbs are illegal on the road

I have just purchased (this weekend) and fitted 2 50% brighter 50w xenon gas bulbs from Halfords buy one get one free they are pretty good, better than the standard ones. Code number H4 price approx £13.00 for the pair.
