Same thing happened when REM were playing T in the Park a couple of years ago. Tickets sold very quickly and got sold for around £200 a weekend.

By the time the festival arrived there were loads of tickets available due to loads of touts buying then putting threre prices too high and finally needing shot of the tickets. I got a day ticket for £10 in the end. REM headlined that night on the main stage and were aweful, I`ve never seen a band that made me want to either sleep of slit my wrists for an entire set before.

Don`t get me wrong, REM can produce some good stuff, but for some reason they did not want to play any of there famous stuff, instead playing either new/unkown stuff and even the encore was of songs which were B-sides on a single. Festival headliners should play sets that light up the festival not put it to sleep.

Apparently the same thing has happened with the upcoming Queen concert - impossible to get through on-line or by phone to buy one officially and sold out straight away. Now the tickets are turning up for sale at between £400 - £600 each

Its not surprizing they go so quickly when you consider that the industry gets their share of tickets ,then the corporate machine gets their percentage of tickets. The tickets agencies are also given a quota and dont forget the freebies for competitions and the like.

Then there are the true fans who gets whats left.

Its not just with concerts either its any big event.
