Haynes produce a workshop manual on the Hilux Surf for the Australian market. Most petrol and diesel models are covered - but for some strange reason turbo diesel engines are not. Haynes also tell me that the gearbox may be slightly different as well. Even so I’ve ordered a copy from Halford’s for £14.99. If you want to talk to Haynes their telephone number is: - 01963 442080.

Best Manual I've seen is the Max Ellery one EPTH4D. Covers the Diesel but not the 2LTE only the 2LT. However you can get through most things with it and covers al the relevant gearboxes and axles.

Just bought the Max Ellery EPT034 for 3rd gen Surf off Roughtrax. Basically, its a Prado 1996-2004 but covers Hilux, 4 Runner & Surf driveline & mechanicals for petrol & diesels (1KZ-T(E). Looks good.Live for TodayComment
