£1600 (it seems they've added £700 just to deduct it)is just about the average (remember stevo offers a BIG discount), you won't be able to go to small claims as the amount is too high, but you will be in for a lot of aggro and hassle if you do decide to take it to court, some people are up for it, some are not. bear in mind that you have agreed for the work to be done to the vehicle (if you have not agreed, then ask the garage to put it back like it was, as you never told them to do 'extra' work and you are not willing to pay for work you havent authorised). If the vehicle is on HP, then it is the finance company's vehicle, get them to sort it out. If the vehicle was paid for with a credit card, similarly, it's the credit company's vehicle, let them sort it.....get some proper advice first before you enter into any discussions with the garage.

Hi Reading your problems i would get in touch with the trade + sandards to find out if you have a case to take this man to court. As stated before you have 3 months warrenty you found out that you had a problem 2 weeks after buying the car.

At lease Dick Turpin wore a mask (rip off)
