i DONT KNOW THE laws of the I-O-M but hes taking you for a ride you have 3 months WARRANTY by LAW in the UK as this problem started after you bought it they should pay the FULL AMOUNT.

Seems a lot but as you say your on the Isle of Man so I dont know the local rates etc.
Had my head done in Dec came to £1800 incl. the VAT.
£270 of this was for a new radiator which was the cause of the
over heating.Took a week and they gave me a "free" loan car
while mine was off the road.
The car was far to gone to have Stevo look at it as I live in Reading.
long way from him with the cost of transport etc was to great.
Due to a 12mth warantry on there work they would not let me
supply my own ( stevo) head, they charged £787 incl VAT but
that was a complete new one with valves cams etc
Job well done runs like a dream now, loads of power very quite
and no smoke and lots more MPG.
        Brings back the silly grin.
        Cheers Chris

You could of saved some money by going to someone like ukcylinderheads my head cost £800 with the cam and valves fitted plus all the bolts and gasket set...

It pays to source the spares yourself when getting work done you can save yourself a fortune in overcharged materials where the garage will add their cut onto the materials making an all ready expensive job even more expensive.
