  • Viewing Surf

    Hi folks
Glad to have found this site. I have saved myself from buying a Disco recently and am going to look at a Surf at the weekend. Could anyone tell me the most important questions to ask/things to look for. It's a '93 2.4 SSRX 110 000kms, head recently done!

i think you have had the most important question answered, the head replacement could well be a good thing, just make sure it was a new head not a new gasket, receipts will be a good starting point .the 3,0ltr s tend to suffer less and manuals seem less prone to over heating ,but all said the surf is a great vehicle and suffer no more problems than any other, buy one and enjoy

Just treat it as a normal car. Re, the head being done ask for the bills to prove it. Check all windows work on all the switches up & down especially the rear tail gate window.

Oh and welcome to the mad world of surfs

Before you drive it make sure that you have done a series of facial stretches and properly warmed up the muscles around your jaw. Else you may find the after effects of the unstoppable grin you will get from driving a surf quite uncomfortable!
