€17 for all the help and offers of help and advice and diagrams and meeting new folks and getting into offroading - its nothing, so even if it doesnt mean an whole lot as regards using this board, the people who are behind this thing deserve a digout

Personally speaking I think £12 to keep this site running is a worthwhile investment. I've certainly saved far more than that from the help and advice I've got from here. (Not to mention the chance to get out and get my surf scratched and muddy!! )

Nigel, Andy and Tony run all this for us in their spare time, (and do a jolly good job too), I don't think it's fair to expect them to foot all the bill as well.

Just my opinion and others may disagree, I guess that's why the subscription is optional......

couldnt have said it better myself and to any guests or new surf owners hangin round get yourselves in pay the few quid in the knowledge that you will save 10 times that amount in the 1st six mths on mechanics fees

I agree,with the above,as soon as an alternative method of payment is found,there will be a cheque in the post(strikes permitting)£12.05 is definately a worthwhile investment,this site has been invaluable to me.

Paying over the internet is NOT safe!Hackers can run code on your PC that records keystrokes which in turn records your credit/debit card details.Think seriously before giving out banking details over the net.IT IS NOT SAFE!

Only if you them do it by being sloppy with security and letting them in in the first place.

I've had my credit card number ripped off twice since first getting one 3 years ago, one time in a shop, the other before I'd even used it the first time!

I'll take my chances on the 'net, been paypalling and ebaying with for 2 years now no trouble. Got a CC just for online stuff so its easy to check up on.

BUT your Sooooooooooo Wrong

There has NEVER been a recorded case of a Credit Card being used as a direct result of information being passed through the Internet.
If you use a secure Web Server (Little Padlock bottom right hand corner of your window) then your information is encrypted.
You have more chance of your card/account details being ripped off in a shop, petrol station, hotel anywhere that you hand your card over.
As for Bank Details, you don't give any more details than the information that is printed on a cheque & I bet you don't have ANY problems writing one of those?

Have seen both before and they are on about something different than making a payment via Paypall or via a secure web-site.

Do what some friends of mine have done...............
They have a Credit Card with a £200 limit,
They ONLY use this card for internet purchases and thats it...........
It has a 100% Fraud Safe Guard and gives them piece of mind as well.
All I was trying to point out was that buying on-line is safer than walking into your local shop and handing over your Credit Card to the Assistant behind the counter.........

Secondly we all seem to have forgotten about purchasing goods via the telephone where you give the card no., exp date AND the 3 digit security code on the reverse of the card to validate your purchase - all to a complete stranger at the other end of the telephone whom we assume is a) legitimate & b) honest

Thirdly there are still businesses who insist on using the old style Credit Card slips which produce carbon copies of your card details when it has been swiped

I have been "done" by a third party when I purchased fuel at a local garage and at the end of that month was amazed to find I had a bill of nearly £4000 - It was all sorted out with the Credit Card company as I could prove I had not been anywhere near the locations where my "cloned" card had been used.

If individuals don't like or trust internet purchasing that's their prerogitive but let others decide which method they want to use.
