  • Which Diesel ???

    Right then !
As this if my first diesel ever owned, i am not too brushed up on the fuel grade.
In my cars, i can use lead replacment, Unleaded etc etc... but as for diesel...............is there any difference?
ie. my cars run like a spud, pink and chug when i use petrol from a Shell station, I found that Esso was the best and gave me more power. So ............... What is the deal with Diesel ??? Is it all the same ? What is the difference between Normal Diesel and the likes of supermarkets brand (CITY Diesel) Is it only good for around town ?? Huh ? Im confused !
But please don't even go into cooking oil ! I still havent come to terms with that one yet as i can't imagine being behind a vehicle that smells of a stir fry !!!

    Help Much Appreciated

With my motorbike i really notice the difference getting fuel from different companys. Texaco is definately the worst. but i found Shell, Esso and BP all ok. But it runs better on lead replacement than unleaded despite common thinking. Oh sorry this is the Surf site isn't it haven't noticed any difference after nearly 4000 kms. Lots of grunt where ever i get the juice
    PM ME IF YOU'RE SELLING A 2ND GEN 3.0TD...

      Hi Mike,

follow me for a few miles, you WILL then come to terms with the stir fry vehicle

Ps Tesco do Global diesel, it's got 5% biodiesel in it, so it's a slightly greener fuel

I just live not 100 yards from Tesco, and it's cheaper by a penny per litre. But usually travelled 2 miles for Esso. The way i worked it out was the more exphensive , the better. But when i filled on Tesco before for a petrol, i didnt seem to get as many miles out of a tank. Still not convinced by the Food Fuel though LOL though i shall give Tesco try tomorrow
        Cheers
