Whats the best place??

to get a new cam belt, oil and air filter for a 93 2.4 surf. My first service since i bought her. Also what sort of prices are we looking at?

Is it something that a mechanic novice can do?

You can get the BITS from Milners at http://www.milneroffroad.com/Surf.htm
They do a kit of air, oil & Fuel filters for £12.50 + vat + Carriage

Air filter is easy about 3/4 clips lift it out drop it in then do the clips up.

Oil filter you get at from the O/S wheel arch you may have to remove a plate and you need to be a bit of a contortionist but not to hard!

As to the Cam belt it is a lot more involved you will need to do a search on here for the ins and outs of this job, I did mine and a gave my self plenty of time as I didnt want to rush it and get it wrong. I am not a mechanic but I will have a go at most things! I would say that you should read up on it and then judge your own ability, plus find out how much your local garage would charge you to do the job.
