    Surfs (3.0) are pretty quick up to about 30 - esp auto - thats why they are so much fun at traffic lights - but the weight will start to tell after that.

    I have come to the conclusion that many speedo needles go back wrongly positioned after changing the speedo face. Even a small angle error can make quite a difference to the indicated speed. I did a thread on this a few weeks ago - mine was under-reading by 15mph - but its easy to go as much the other way. Basically, don't make any assumptions about speed or accelleration until you've checked the speedo out with a gps

      on full lock me too but would be interested to see the official figs. My old astra was apparently 14secs and that was a 1.7TD and that was quicker than the Surf.
