  • Problems With Imports???

I am looking at a 95 3.0 Surf, SSR-G with 57000 miles 1 owner, how much is it worth? It has just been imported from Japan and waiting to be regestered. I have been told that the imports wont run correctly in this country as they are used to being warm in Japan, they also said you had to change a few parts for them to run right in this U.K??

Is this correct???? Or a load of c**p?

    Thanks

Yup, in a nutshell they need undersealing to avoid rusting, a fog light, and the speedo face changed to MPH.

    Then enjoy.

As for the temperature thing... check out how big Japan really is... and the ranges in altitude where one might choose to use a 4x4...

      That bit certainly is cr*p

It wont hurt you to do a complete change of oil, all filters and possibly the cam belt. You can pick a service set up cheaply from www.milneroffroad.com and if youre capable, do the service yourself. Dont forget to post some piccies soon.

Can only assume someone in a rival dealers fed you this, best bet is shovel it up and spread it on your garden.

Well there are over 2000 members on here with imported surfs, and most of us would make exactly the same choice again... so read what you will into that. Mine came in with snow tyres on and many run winter packs due to the cold clime they came from, so the warmth bit is definately c**p. Parts are easily available and dont have to be bought from Toyota at great expense, follow the insurance links on here to the specialist import insurers and you'll have no trouble there.

go for it - they are great cars!
