Nice One (the bar not the injury)

Glad it's all on & sorted - there's nothing worse than having a new toy & not being able to play with it (or fit it in this case). Keep us posted on your choice of spots too.

The name of the tyre place I was on about on Sunday = "Kinders Service Station" - they're out over Broughton on the A6. Reckon they'd be worth a try. Also heard the guy near Kyote Graphics on Spen Ind Estate ("Discount Tyres"?) is also good. Either that or see if you can buy online & have them fitted to your wheels at the local ATS/K-Fit etc.

Who needs 'experts'? I'll keep an eye out for my bar heading towards me from now on then

Just an afterthought on the magic button (not yet re-read your thread so this suggestion may be on there), but is it to engage your low ratio gears for 4wd?...

        Cheers paul,

Will have a look into those tyre places after xmas..

As for that magic button, i thought (and im gusessing again) that the low ratios were controled by the 4wd button on the 4wd - 2wd drive lever...?

        Again im guessing...

Im surfless today as ive dropped it off for its ICE install... Driving the Corsa SXI just feels wrong now...

If you are talking about the small button on the side of the main gear selector, that's for the overdrive. The button on the side of the small lever is for the 4WD in high gear (normal).

The small lever, when pushed forwards, automatically engages 4WD in low gear ratios (presuming you've got an automatic). If yours is a 2nd Gen, do not use 4WD on the road as there is no central diff; you'll suffer transmission wind-up/lock-up as at least one front wheel must be able to "slip" when in 4WD other than in a dead s=traight line

            Cheers Mike

The button being debated is located on central column to the rear of the manual gear levers (central armrest edge). We're both wondering what it does - it's been suggested that it's often used as a fitting point for an alarm LED, but on Mark's it's a black rectangular button (like the hazards/heated rear, but with no iluminated bit).

To me, it doesn't look to be a Toy' part as the edges didn't seem to fit snugly enough - but I'm only guessing. Mines an auto so I didn't realise the switch to operate the 4wd was the same on a manual (assumed that both gearlevers worked in manual 'gate' format). Cheers for the heads-up, but don't worry there's been no 4WD tarmac travelling.

Mark - is it attached to anything? (good chance to get to know your surf better by following any cabling wherever it goes ) When do you get it back all ICE'd up?
