Auto trans.....off road??

Hi all,

I have emigrated to New Zealand and am looking at buying a 1994 Surf ssr-x. I haven't had one before and will be needing to go off road and to tow a trailer (I am a fencing cntractor). The problem is, it is really hard to to get manuals over here and I wondered what the Auto's were like off hard.

STEVE welcome, Most of us - around 99% have auto gearboxes & they are fine offroad also no problem towing but you may need to fit a bigger transmission oil cooler as it gets so hot over there.

The Auto has the advantage of no loss of drive, between gear changes, which can be an asset in the really sticky stuff.
