Dont know how i missed this!!! But got my vote. Its just the same as everything else in this world. Its a matter of opinion. All facts and figures can be made to look good or bad for a particular cause its just down to how you perceive the facts and form your opinion from that information.
I always work better wet .

Its why I became a plumber!!!

me too, my email to them is copied below:

"A couple of serious points which you have not addressed on your site :

We own a Toyota Surf, a vehicle you would refer to as a 4x4. It actually spends 99% of its time in two wheel drive (2x4). How do you categorise this ?

A friend drives an Audi saloon 4x4 (all time four wheel drive), how do you categorise this?

Many many sports cars and executive type cars (two wheel drive) produce far more pollutants than many "4x4's" What is your policy on these vehicles?

Size seems to matter to you, another friend drives a Volvo estate which is physically larger than my vehicle, how do you categorise this ?

Your main position - that of environmental protection is lost through simplistic finger pointing.

I have a keen interest in environmental issues and recycle just about everything I can. My vehicle is 12 years old and my view is that the longer I keep it running in good condition the greater use I am making of the initial energy that was required to produce it. Consider that contribution against the great and good folk who change their super mini every other year and waste further resources (and therefore increased levels of pollution) through further unnecessary car production.

As a building surveyor I am well aware of energy conservation issues and would be interested in how your staff and supporters contribute to energy saving measures in your home? What is the sedbuk rating of your heating boiler? How thick is your loft insulation? In fact does your home meet current building regs for conservation of energy? It may not have to (the regs are not retrospective) but I would assume all good eco warriors such as yourselves would strive to. Energy losses in the home account for a huge waste of resources and further pollution.

My point is your campaign is far too simplistic and ill thought out to be taken seriously. I am uncertain you even fully understand the issue you campaign on.

As I have taken the trouble to raise some serious points with you, I would be grateful if you would reciprocate with a reasoned response."

            Just my tuppence worth !!!
            regards

              Mines just gone in.
I wonder how environmentally friendly all those 1000s of leaflets will be when they are screwed up and thrown on the floor?.
Laugh!!! I nearly bought my own beer.

Phil, I hope you get a quicker reply than I did when I sent them a rational e-mail along similar lines as the one you sent them. I sent mine at the end of November and a reminder to them in the middle of December asking for a reply, but nothing as of yet.
You can take my 4x4 from me when you prize the keys from my cold, dead hand.

                    I'm in on this one.
I actually thought, at the time, that KL was the best candidate for the mayor's job.
He's doing a d****d good job of proving me wrong!

"a short sighted idea that needs a more open attitude, our nanny state cannot be allowed to continue punishing those that dont fall in with its ideals, otherwise the point of living in a democracy is lost and the system fails. i personally will vote out ANY political party that introduces horrific taxes or penalties against people's freedom, our culture is one that will not stand by and allow it to continue and most of our national heroes are people who fought against such despotism."
