2.4 v 3.0

anyone own or has owned both?
what do you think of extra ponies?
fuel consumption? 20mpg max at present, foot on floor at all times.
finding my 2.4 a little flat for towing
thinking of upgrading to 3.0 with or without intercooler????

Yup. They're all fine vehicles but they just got better as time went on.

I get 24/26 mpg out of my 3.0 non-intercooled

Yeh I agree,

Iv'e had a 2.4 which was fine until it got to a hill and was then a bit of a slug. I now have a 3rd Gen 3ltr which goes like a rocket compared to the 2.4, Bags of power and will pull a house down. The MPG with the 2.4 is the same as my 3ltr and it now just barely ticks over on motorway runs with hardly any throttle, with the 2.4, I had to keep my foot down to keep it moving ! Can't comment on the intercooled as I aint had one.
