just bought myself a surf (2.4 1992 auto)
was fine on the 150 odd mile journey back home. when i stopped i noticed it starting to over heat quite quickly, as soon as i start driving temp quage goes back to normal.it had a cylinder head fitted last year!!!
    coolant level seems fine.
should the vicious fan be addiquate cooling?
i noticed when i turned it off and turned the ignition back on an electric fan cut in.
any body had problems like this

check for viscous fan for correct operation if it only overheats when stationary. Search on here for the correct operation of it.
