General Grabbers or Goodrich AT

Just about to get some new shoes for the Surf......

Looking at either BF Goodrich AT's or the new General Grabber AT's. Is one better than the other? I don't do a lot of off roading, mainly just the odd muddy field or track down to a river or up to a loch in the north of Scotland. Be interested in any thoughts on MPG difference and wet braking performance, on paper the BFG's are better for both but the Grabbers look like they should be the better of the two.

Ive had both and didnt find much difference between the two - similar patterns etc just depends on your budget as the Grabbers are cheaper.

Not that I could tell but someone else might say otherwise. Tyres are always a little subjective but the differences between these two are pretty minimal.

My Grabbers only lasted 2000 miles.

But then again I did sell the truck & they still looked like new.

Couldn't personaly comment on the Grabbers but I've taken the surf through some heavy going on it's BFG AT's. My dad had Grabbers on his pinin for the grouse moors and he rates them.

Hi Ben,
We have just fitted the new GG AT3s to our trucks. They are less obviously 'off road' then the BFGs we have had previously but they seem to grip very well on wet grass and muddy fields. We tow a loaded horse trailer across fields at events and they are miles better than the Cooper Discoverers we had immediately before. They bite well and self clean efficiently.
Too early to say anything about wear. They are good on road and grip well. Noise levels are about the same as the Coopers and I think a bit quieter than the BFGs but it has been 12 months since we had those.

I always recommend bfg long trail if you only do occasional journeys off the tarmac. I always get ignored...
