Quite often mate most companys do a wheel tyre combo, So you could get some new rims? Unless you want to maintain stock?
I just know that some places wont fit a 12.50" to a 7"
You can get away with it on an 8" but should be on a 10" .... just might have a hard time to get someone to put it on the stock rims
still can some1 post some pics of 33" on 7"wide wheels please.
aslo can you lot tell me what 31x10.50x15 off road tyres you have and what you think of them, iv a new set of 7"x15" wheels and i wana buy some good mud tyres,
cheers
colway m/t - cheap and cheerful offroad tyre don't tend to last on the road and quite noisy, good first offroad tyre though but won't last more than a year if they're on the truck all the time.
kumho kl71 - look the mutts nuts, not as conventional tread pattern as the colways, probably a harder compound so should last a bit longer, advantage of sidewall lugs makes them the better offroad tyre
cooper discoverer STT - much like the kumhos, look good, sidewall lugs are less pronounced than the kumho's but still there and look rock hard
BFG m/t - considered the original and the daddy offroad tyre by many, and the father of many offroad tyres which have borrowed the same tread pattern, many people would swear by them
Greenway Macho - again good looking offroad tyre, possibly the least aggressive pattern but still with big tread blocks, the most directional pattern of the bunch gives them good potential for self cleaning and therefore good offroad capability
There's a start anyway, i have only ever used the colways and am seriously considering something more aggressive purely for offroad use as i have now decided to keep a set for the road and a set for mud plugging as there's no such thing as a tyre that's good on the road and in the mud. I'm on insa turbo mountain's for the road and considering buying some 16" wheels so i can have insa turbo special tracks for the mud. http://www.paddockspares.com/scp/WHE..._Remoulds.html
I forgot to say they are 16'' x 7'' x 33'' Machos - I only put them on when I am going off road - what nero said. I've got a 3 tonne garage jack and a cordless impact wrench so it doesn't take me long to change them.
Noisy on road, but bl00dy marvellous off road.
BTW - you will have difficulty getting 15'' rims in 33'' - apparently there is a shortage of good carcases - unless you're buying new.
I was happy to pay £50 per remould and not cry too loudly if I wrecked them when off road.

i have kuhmo kl71 tyres. i will most definitely get them again.as nero said the sidewall lugs aid you greatly when off road.they are a reasonably hard compound and are not very noisy on road at all
cheers all for replys, iv bin and got some colway MT fitted and i must say i like them alot and there cheap, so now i'll start to save for some kumho kl71
in size 33x12.50x15 for my old wheels i took off
What sort of lift are people looking at to happily run 33s?? From playing the other night I noticed when the rears is fully articulated the wheels tuck right up in the arches, how much wider then stock can you go before they start catching?? - Or is it just a matter of lifting the truck so much that they don;t go as far up
I can't seem to find any pics of Gens 3s with 33s and sensible lifts

Therefore a 'sensible' lift for 33's would be 4", as Richard said. I have about 5" total, which is a popular one, and gives plenty of room for that size tyre.
