Tyre Advice

Hi everyone.

I have been a lurker at this forum for a few months now and it seems full of good advice.

So here goes with my query.

My tyres are the japanese ones that came with the motor (and i have heard bad things about them being unstable in the wet) and i am wanting to replace them.

They are Bridgestone Duelers H/T 689 + 1 Dunlop Grandtrek
265/70R15 119S
T.G. 28
KW 876 SR
X324 E11

the wheels are T15 x 7JJ-8 DOT offset 8

I am now living in Spain for most of the time and i drive along dirt tracks every day and also badly potholed tarmac roads. I know its not proper off-roading but some of the tracks get fairly deep water/mudholes in them and i have found that my existing tyres are just not up to it (i have been skidding about all over the place even in 4 wheel drive).
i will also be driving back through France to dear old blighty a couple of times a year so M/T's will be out of the question.

anybody got any recommendations on tyres please.

try the BFG a/t's or the Khumo a/t's they both are a good all rounder

I might be wrong but isn't 265/70R15 just about the same as 31x10.5x15
the 31's will be the biggest standard size you can fit without any lift

just been on one site and it says 30 x 9.5/15 are imperial equivalent to 265/70R15's.

will they fit my wheels without any problems?

by the way how do u know if its already had a lift. is there a standard measurement somewhere?

If your interested in saving a few bob Colway A/T's are the same tread pattern as a BFG A/T's

You can pick them up for about £50 a corner!

Ive used both and both are a good tyre!

ive had colways ,general grabbers, and bfg ats, out of the three id personally recommend the bfgs these are giving me a better ride and handling, although the colways are a damn site cheaper and have the same tread pattern as bfgs i found the colways to be a 'heavier' tyre and i had a lot more body roll going round roundabouts at 40 lol

£100 a corner mate! not too bad!

That site dosnt have any price options for 265/70r15

But the 31"s give a much better look!


You can probably find them cheaper but the £100 is gunna be a rough idea

Got mine at a small independant tyre fitter, £90 a corner, fitted and balanced.
and they look more aggressive when fitted.

THEY ARE OUTSTANDING OFF ROAD, and average on road, but you have to be carefull when braking in the wet.
