  • Greenway Machos delivered

Just had my set of Greenway Machos (31.10.50/15) delivered. Set of 5, on white steel rims, £445 (normally £455) from Sowden Tyres

Here they are, pictured against my 265/70/15 Dueller H/Ts.

Get to try them out in a couple weeks at Castleford, lets see how they do.

      hehehe!! don't you mean £444.50.

Shame they stuck those balance weights on the rim, spoils the look.

          Dunno yet.

They're my off-roading set, so not intended to for daily drivers. However they will obviously be used to drive to and from events. I doubt I'll get to fit them until this weekend. I'm actually going to have to swap the wheels over from my 2.4, as my 3ltr has the standard rims and nuts, and they're not suitable for these rims (standard rims have nuts with washers, these rims need tapered nuts).

I was originally hoping to get these in a 33, but although Colway have 33s on their books, they haven't actually had any available for over a year (can't get the carcasses). So I figured that the sacrifice of 1" ground clearance was more than out-weighed by the cost saving, the ease of getting a replacement when the tyre gives out (through wear), and the lesser modifications (i.e. none, although I am doing a small lift) required to fit them.

I don't think they're listed on the site. Give Mark a call directly on 01132757451, very friendly chap, and easy to deal with.

OK, got them fitted now, and I'm very pleased. I reckon the rims look quite good too. Took it for a quick spin round the block, and the only noticeable tyre noise is at very low speed (i.e. coming to a halt). No opportunity for a grip test yet however. Oh, and they've given me a 4cm lift too (ground to wheel arch at front went from 87cm to 91cm)
