  • Distorted Tyres

Had the tyres on for about 6 months, they came off another newley imported surf, and were practically brand new 31 inch goodrich tyres.
First the front two got distorted making my surf woble all over the road, and got worse by the day untill I changed them for two nearly new goodrich 31s.
Now the back two have gone and are really bad.
Will I have to put the same tyres on the back, or can I put a different make on??
Also where is the best place to buy tyres at a reasonable price.

What makes them distort in such a bad way??, is it the make?? or maybe just a bad batch?

    Cheers Kevin.

What type of BFG's are they,
    Are they the correct pressure,
Have you had your suspension components checked,
    Wheel alignment o.k.????????

Pressure is 30 all round, the two new ones on the front have been balanced, and the dealer says that the suspension etc is ok,
I think they were AT winter tyres.
      Cheers

        very strange.
maybe your tyres were just very old?
I have 31/10.5/r15 mud terrain, retreads fitted, running @33psi all round and they seem pretty sturdy on the road.
        sorry can't help any further.
        cheers, Vince.

p.s. sowdentyres.co.uk four mud terrains delivered for £180.

            Sure no problemo!
As long as you have two 'like' tyres on the same axle.

I had exactly the same problem with some BFG's. Sods law I was halfway to Ireland and just got off the ferry when they went ! I had to replace all four, Which was a nice way to start your holiday!!

I think it is due to the age of the tyre and also I have heard that a lot of imports are stored at Dubai in the hot heat for a month or 2 whilst on route ?? This may have something to do with it. I noticed mine had started to split but left it too late.

So the moral is, if they are starting to crack / split then get ready to change them !!

                  Andy
