if your winching mate, my i heartily recommend buy a plasma rope. i know its a task that looks simple, but it can be really dangerous if it goes wrong.
with a plasma if it breaks, it will fall straight to the floor. with a wire rope... it can become a bullet.
i know its more money. but its well spent in my opinion.TeaM BOFA4x4 Mac 2008

Try this place good prices.they do wire winch rope or winch web i would go for the winch web if the pockets will stretch that far it's alot safer if it breaks and it wont cut your hands to bits when it gets frayed

winch rope
would not use the winch web, as i have had experiance of it, not so good getting it onto the drum evenly. would be better with plasma rope, expensive, or if doing a lot of winching over roof ground rock's & stone use wire rope.
most of the MSA licenced recovery unit use steel becouse of this.

also worth searching for local lifting gear companies on yell.com or try these guys, a lot of them do winch ropes in either wire or plasma, and will make it up for your winch http://www.slingandtackle.co.uk/contact.html or www.ltdirect.co.uk or try www.electricwinches.co.uk=========
