  • Japanese Sat Nav

My Surf is fitted with Japanese Sat NAV. I've been told this will work fine in the uk if I swap the CD over to a uk one. Is this true, if so where can I pick up the correct CD (at a good price). Cheers

if its a ADDZEST unit eg nax 9100 (made by clarion in japan)
its the same as the clarion ubits in the uk and will run off clarion maps or maps produced by teleatlas.

i got one in mine and the maps are around £90 each (there just cd roms so if you know anybody with one they could do you a trial copie) not to say i would of course

          sat nav

Mine cam with sony sat nav, digimap, tried sony uk sony japan and local suppliers, all of them not interested as it was from outside uk, the only plus is the monitor is a standard item and with a bit of tinkering can be used with a tv tuner and playstation. i.e. great for caravanning.

Does it say Navtech on board anywhere on the system or on the original map disc?
If so then i have a spare disc here that covers the uk and most of Europe, it is originally for a VDO Dayton system but is made by Navtech.
If you look on their website they say that their discs work on 9 out of 10 Sat Nav sytems on the market. Where in the country are you?
Could let you try it possibly.

Good idea but been tried and tested and only gives false hope
