  • Manual ln 130 up for grabs, cheap!

    Hi chaps

i have a LN 130, 2.4, MANUAL for sale, pretty cheap i reckon considering.

i bought it as a potential off road project, but in fairness, is probably too tidy for that, and i don't have the time for it anyway, so here it is.

it is candy red, done just over 108,000 miles, has MOT until November 18th, and is very solid indeed, fitted with towbar and single electrics too.

the guy before me, has had the injector pump off to investigate a diesel leak, realised how complex it all was, and put it back, not having cured the leak (£8.50, Milners Seal Kit) or timed it up properly either, fab!

as such, it drives no problem, just needs some coaxing to start, and has a fair drip of fuel whilst its running, but i drove it back to my place some 30 miles, spot on, no problem, eveything worked as it should i believe.

it has had an entire new clutch, flywheel, etc etc, at great expense, and there is card record of services and oil changes, some previous mot's

body is good, most notable issue is a fair scratch on the nearside front arch plastic, bumpers have the usual surface spots with age, interior is good and tidy too.

engine sounds good once running and settled, drives well on the road.

good news, i want just £600 for it,

bad news, it will need at least two tyres very soon, and as mentioned above, it has mot, but no tax, and wants the injector pump coming off, seal kit in, and reinstalling properly, and finally, two opposite studs are damaged on the rear offside hub, no biggy really .

    thats it i think

grab a bargain, surely the gearbox, clutch, flywheel is worth that much alone, and the rest would fetch £300 scrap!!!!

    C'mon fella's,

£600 is not exactly asking a lot is it?

        I could be interested.

But I'd need some photos and are you insured in it to get it taxed?

Odd that fuel pump timing is just lining up two marks....

i will get photo's soon, no problem, but i will need email address to send them too.

i was under the impression, from reading on here, that to accurately calibrate the injector pump, was a tedious job, to be performed on the bench whilst the pump was being re-assembled,

          is this not correct???

the whole idea of selling it cheaply now, was to attract a capable DIY'er, who could grab a bargain by purchasing it as it is, and doing it themselves,

if it doesn't sell this way, and i end up making it A1, it is clearly going to get dearer, and not so much the bargain anymore, which in this day and age, is the whole point isn't it?

Don't worry, everyone wants something for nothing these days, stick to your guns and don't get bullied.

This is a for sale ad, lets keep the B/S for the other forums.

(Calibrating the pump is a specialist job, but removing it and putting it back is just a matter of knowing one end of a spanner form another and lining up two marks, as mentioned in other thread.)

              Thank you Tony,

as i suspected, and as he said then, the pump calibration is a bench and skilled job, prior to the install and lining the marks up,

but i don't think that stops this truck being cheap at £600 ono???

i'll keep plugging away at it for now fella's, but i honestly thought a cheap manual would have more positive interest?

              cheers

Shrew... would you mind posting some photos please. My own is suffering a from a lot of chassis rot and I need to start considering other options.

                Thanks
