The blanking plates will make the air which is burnt.

Older vehicles do not require an egr valve for the emissions on an MOT.

Ah sh1t!! thats my stupid phone for you!! I will try again....

removing the EGR valve and fitting the blanking plates will help the engine to run cleaner, as it wont be burning any recirculated exhaust gas, and it should mean better mpg's, but on a 2 tonne truck i wouldnt expect alot!
