  • 2nd gen Towbar, Trailbike carrier, bits and bobs.

My surf was sadly written off early last year, and I took the towbar off before letting her go to the scrapyard in the sky. It turns out I'm never going to be able to run a surf again, so I have some stuff for sale.

    1. A whitter Towbar. complete with fittings kit. It's a bit scratched and rusty from use, but totaly sound and would be perfect with a coat of paint.
Say £60 which is half the cost of a new one.

    2. A trailbike carrier. I used this to carry a DR350, with no problems, although I don't think I'd try anything bigger. again it's well used looking but sound.
Say £45, again that's half the cost of the new one.

    Or £95 for the pair.

    3. A set of wind deflectors, servicable

    4. a couple of manuals, the haynes and the Max ellory.

If there's any interest you can contact me at tdbanks (at) btinternet.com

Im based in cheshire, near Junction 18 of the M6

Is the bike carrier one of those ones that clamp onto a tow hitch, or one that directly clamps on to the chassis ?

    thanks

it's the type that clamps onto the towball carrier plate, you need a decent heavy duty towbar to use with it. the towball then bolts on the top, so you can carry a bike and tow

Any chance of some better pics of tow bar fitted. I'd like to see how much below the bumper it hangs ? along with the mounting brackets.

I'm afraid not - the towbar is in the shed and my surf is long gone.

It's one of these. Now I've looked they've come down in new price so I'll drop my price to £40, hows that.

Oh, and I forgot to mention - the towar should fit any surf, but I don't think the rack will fit a surf with a rear maounted spare

Sadly no, the 4x4 version does sit further back to let you use it with the spare on the door, but this is the standard version.

                      Hi,
Is the towbar still for sale and could you post to Plymouth?
                      Thanks

I still have it, but I'ts a pretty big bit of metal to be posting, probably not worth the cost.

Dave i was able to send a towbar through www.parcel2go.com for about £18 via DHL so may be worth a look on their website or www.interparcel.com also do the heavier things like the towbars for about the same. You may even get them cheaper than what i said as i can't remember the actual price but not no more than that anyway

Thanks Stormforce for the tip on delivery. I have looked at the web site and prices vary depending on weight. I'm guessing the towbar weighs about 20-25kg? , should be around £10 to post.
Dave if you are interested in selling it and posting I am still Interested. How much and does the price include all fittings, electrics and towball?
                            Thanks.

Just saw this. You still got the manuals? How much are you looking for for them? Would be happy to take them off your hands...
