Being new to this range of car, whats the main difference between surfs, for instance I have an SSR G, but I see alot more SSR X's, is it what Toyotas original equipment standard was? If so what would a G have or not have that an X would or wouldn't?

Models go from bottom to top as follows.
SSR
SSR-V
SSR Limited (before the SSR-X)
SSR-X
SSR-G
SSR-G is top of the range and may have the following.
Recaro interior
Cruise control (3.0)
rear mounted spare
Fake Wood trim
Rear Spoiler
You may also see some of the above in SSR-X especially the rear spare and the rear spoiler.
It seems that when the Surf came out you could spec it up to anything you want and owners frequently did. Either that or it was a case of buy your own badge and put it on.
Cheers
Edit...............
or it could be listed as Marky put, never quite sure what came lowest SSRV or SSR Ltd but I think it is the SSRV that is before the SSR Ltd as the SSR Ltd was replaced by the SSRX.
