Hello group,
I currently have a 3.0 TD 4Runner (UK spec) and I am seriously considering importing from Japan as I fancy a model not normally available in UK. I would like to find out your experiences of the various organizations offering import services both from Japan and from Europe.
- Who did you deal with and did you have any problems at any stage of the
process?
- Did you import a specific vehicle or did you buy from the importers stock?
- If you imported 'to order' were you expected to accept the vehicle
regardless of circumstances etc?
- Do you feel you had a good deal?
I think you can see what I'm looking for - there are many firms advertising
on the internet and logically there will be good and bad among them. I am
trying to avoid the dodgy ones if that is possible ;-)
I would like to find a Toyota Hilux 4x4 Extracab, Diesel, 2.4 or 2.8, Turbo,
5 - 6 years old (age v.price I guess), low mileage, excellent condition, bag
of gold sovereigns under the back seat etc etc. I would prefer RHD but LHD
would not be a 'show stopper' providing the rest of the deal was ok.
All genuine input welcome. If you have comments that may be somewhat
sensitive or too contentious for publication please email me direct. If you
insist on responding without anything useful to contribute at least make it
