temperature gauge is going up, engine fan comes on and the temp gauge goes down - on a 10 mile journey this happened half a dozen times, twice the needlt touched red- obviously im paranoid its a gasket/head problem!

change your rad cap & stat and check for airlocks first. Also check your radiator is not full of mud! mine is and was getting warm towing an empty trailer the other day!
