  • wet front passenger floor .... any ideas??

no apparent leak from heater matrix/coolant system and only affects the front floor pan. when carpet is pulled back there is no clue where the water is running down (to the lowest point) from.

The floor bungs are in place, door seals seem ok and I do not drive off road or through fords etc so no obvious reason for the water. I had it all dried out recently but within a few days it is soaking wet again.

Are there typical areas that lead to leaks??

Hi this might sound daft but have you been using you " air/con", as there is a little drain off pipe that sticks out of the bulkhead, that pipe may have come off.

no i havent been using the air con .... but that pipe sounds worth checking anyway if it is prone to coming adrift... where abouts on the bulkhead is it?

also, i have a tilt/slide sunroof - are the drain channels prone to leaking into the vehicle interior?

Check your coolant levels also as it could be the heater matrix leaking inside the truck also

If they are choked, yes. Check it, you'll see it behind the kick panel.

The grommets on the floor pan are a pain for leaking. Especially with all the wet roads just now. Fixed mine with a good covering of silicone sealant and bingo gone are my wet mats!

No wet boots or shoes on the passenger side - fraid i dont liftshare much!
(the hilux is mine, all mine!!).
No coolant leaks that i can detect but perhaps i will try hose down the sunroof drains - when i got the vehicle it had a load of mud clogging up the inner wing drains forward of both front doors, so perhaps one of the sunroof drains has some crap stuck up the end.

I'll give that a try as soon as i get a chance. Thanks.

that sounds possible - most of road puddles are on nearside so good chance that is my problem. Thanks

do you get a curry type of smell ? usually the matrix has a leak ,
                        not always noticeable .

                          eh? tape up the sunroof?

Just make sure when you hose it with water the water drains down past the wings as it should.
As Albannach said, the drains run behind kick panel.

aaaaahhh. Drains are pretty easy to locate though.
