Thanks, took the red up at my mates wood in Forfar. Plenty about around there, mainly because the greys are kept at bay.

I am surprised to see them in England because the greys are more aggressive and they killed the red ones and win the territory. I am glad to see the red ones . In my country I could see just the red squirrels.

That is not strictly true Mrs Thrifty..........

The greys carry a pox that they are immune to, but the reds are not. That is how most reds die off. There are pockets of reds scattered about, some in Northumberland,The lakes and here in Lancs. Forfar is in Scotland and they have plenty up there.

Killing of greys is paramount to the resurgence of greys, we should all do more to kill the bushy tailed grey rats. ###### horrible things, my tally is 93 for the year and counting...................... .

Why out of the 3 Surf sites does this only have a place like this? And I own one of them...Sorry I have two Cavvies (He's a Tricolour or meant to be but is completely white except for one ear and his bum, most randy thing on 4 legs) and she is a "Black N Tan" Both pedigree with papers.

Finally got the quad bike fixed, thanks to the advice on here, you can get real close to these lovely animals if you go onto the field on the bike, you will be lucky to get within 50 yards if on foot.

Hopefully this shows the inquisitve nature of the hinds. The farmer has no sheep on the fields at the moment and only a handful of cattle, the deer all look in good nick after a very good summer for the for the grass. There is one that is really bad on her back legs, a young hind, she may need to be taken off for her own good, we`ll see.

Rut is over, a lot of the older stags are hobbling about, they lead with their front legs when fighting and injure themselves.

This one is on good nick.
