  • Steering part snapped!!!!

Just backed the surf (LN130 2.4 1992) off the drive and heard a bang and lost the steering!! looked under and the arm from the steering box is ok (pitman?) but the the next part has snapped off, at the end of the pitman arm is a bolt with a split pin in and a stubby bit left on the end that has snapped, wheels are still connected together but obviously no steering.
Anyone know what the parts called and where i can get a new one or if anyone is breaking a surf and is willing to sell me one? Cheers chaps and a happy new year to you all.

yup, if its the tie rod that broken (joins the pitman arm to the idler arm, and the inner track rod ends bolt to ita few inches in from each end.
thats been 1/2 broken for ages looking at the break pattern, only half of it clean.

Toyota should get you a free one and fit it as long as the recall is still ongoing, last I heard it was.

I wonder if Toyota will honour the recall work if the part has already broken??

Seems like a way to wriggle out of it, I hope I'm wrong though.
