Check the connections to the back window glass inside the tailgate. If you take the inside panel off and then drop the glass a bit you should be able to see if the wires are properly connected. If so, you may have a break in the circuit. Halfrauds have sold something in the past to repair dodgy etching. If not, then that's probably your problem but an electrical test meter will help pinpoint any problems.

As for the front, if it's just misty then the a/c will help dry the screen but if it's icy then you'll probably need heat as well.

With yours, it may be that the wires are broken inside the black sleeving somewhere, 'cos of the up and down movment of the window.

Most break about 4" up the sleeving, on the bend. The wire goes hard and brittle.

digging up 5 year old threads? Ah well...

Just lower the tail gate, pull off the carpeted section, remove the metal panel, then use a screwdriver to close the catches on both sides and extend the glass while supporting it to stop it breaking. The demister cable will either have fallen off (should go back on easily) or be broken somewhere between where it attaches to the window and where it meets the chassis after exiting the tailgate.
