STOP PRESS
Considerable damage has been done to the byway network by large numbers of four wheel drive
(4WD) users during the very wet winter . Landmarc and Wiltshire Council have been conducting
repairs in the drier weather especially in Chitterne, Shrewton, Tilshead and Wylye parishes. We are
working with Tread Lightly and Wiltshire Council toeducate all users on sustainable use of green
lanes and will publish a Good Practice Guide (GPG) shortly.
A section of stock fence is soon to be erected between the Impact Area and the perimeter tank track
on Ridgeway in Market Lavington andEasterton parishes in the area
of Lavington Vedette. This willnot affect rights of way and will include a kissing gatefor the proposed new
Lavington Loopfootpath.
There will be an update on Plain Watch in next month’s edition.
