Hi all,
I've been reading the board for a while but it will be my first post. Please excuse me for my English,it's because I'm Bulgarian.
I had around 10 different surfs in the past and they all had some kind of a cooling system problem. The only one that did't have any problems at all was a 3.0TD L reg SSR-X Limited (probably because it had been well looked after).
The problem with the one that I have at the moment is as follows:
After a day use, I leave it overnight. The next morning I check the rad cap to see if it needs any water topped up and It always needs.
The coolant seems to be going into the expansion tank and never coming back into the system. After few days of topping up I end up with a full expansion tank.
No pipes are blocked, the radiator looks good, no leaks at all (or at least no obvious ones), changed the thermostat few days ago, radiator cap looks original (0.9 88kps) and in good nick.
Hope you get my point, I'm just wondering why the water is not being sucked back from the expansion tank.
