Problem electric windows

Hi, i've had these niggling little problems with my '91 surf since i bought it and have now decided to do something about it. To start with the switch on the drivers door for the rear drivers side window will only work in the up direction and the window lock button only has any effect on the same window, it doesn't make any difference to the other windows. I have cleaned all the contacts in all of the drivers door controller but to no avail. I am begining to scratch my head with this so any suggestions or advice would be appreciated.
