changing the heater switch to buttons

Have seen in a few pics of surf's on the SSRX(?) you get push buttons for the aircon. At the moment I have the simple switch to pull left to right. Anyone tried changing this out for a button version? Can it be done? Is it a simple swap or more complex since the older wsitch gear is a mechanical change????

I guess I'm asking can it be done and if so how?
